Responsibilities
Generic Duties:
- Provide technical guidance and support to PSS staff, ensuring quality in the implementation of activities and services as well as the adherence to protection standards.
- Coordinate and supervise psychosocial support activities (recreational, structured psychosocial support) that are conducted in INTERSOS static centers and/or as part of mobile community outreach activities.
- Provide guidance to PSS staff in the planning and implementation of participatory community-based protection activities including overseeing the establishment and support to community-based groups/committees and community-led initiatives.
- Provide guidance to PSS staff in the design, planning and implementation of awareness raising sessions and campaigns and communication/engagement with communities.
- Participate in the recruitment of project staff, provide objective feedback with regards to staff performance (evaluate performance and deliverable against job descriptions), expectations and areas for growth and professional development.
- Identify capacity building needs of protection staff assessing their knowledge and skills and accordingly provide learning opportunities through training, workshops and/or simulation exercises.
- Plan and facilitate the induction process for all newly recruited social workers on protection principles, psycho-social support, the relevant SOPs and the data filing and storing procedures (and other relevant topics).
- Regularly verify the status of the PSS databases and adherence to data protection/confidentiality principles and provide feedback to PSS staff.
- Contribute to weekly, monthly and donor reports, providing relevant insight on protection activities progress and protection related issues.
- In coordination with the Protection Activity Manager, assess Protection, GBV, CP needs and gaps of target populations in current and prospective areas of operations, periodically update the protection situation analysis and inform the programme accordingly.
- Support the Protection Activity Manager in developing and/or updating protection tools and training material in order to meet projects requirement.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relations with relevant partners and other project stakeholders working in the project areas; Contribute to regular service mapping exercises and updates.
- Proactively participate in relevant coordination meetings, as requested by the supervisor.


Qualifications
- University Degree in Social Sciences or related field
- Minimum 2 years relevant professional experience in the
protection sector (of which at least 1 year in a supervisory role)

- Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Good leadership skills
- Strong technical knowledge in protection

- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team
- Experience developing and conducting training is an advantage
